OneSeason’s HUGE Press Release Today-Time to Get Busy!

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Today OneSeason announced via Press Release that they have secured $3.5 million dollars in financing. In the release, they announce they are adding depth to their roster by having some big time players in the financial industry and sit on their board, as well as just a….well Big Dog. Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott has signed on to join and sit on OneSeason’s advisory board. This is just one more overwhelming bit of fact that backs up everything that the Nation has been saying for months now. OneSeason is going to be big, and OneSeason is here to STAY!

The Users Asked For It…OneSeason Delivers. NEW GRAPHS!

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

If you haven’t had a chance, go check out the new graphs on OneSeason for the players page. It looks like Xhibit rolled up in there, and pimped their ride, Yo! Spinning rims and everything. The next change that users are screaming for is to update the personal performance graph on the profile page. Kudos to OneSeason for their constant, and consistent upgrades to the website. People should take notice. They are doing exactly, word for word, what they said they’ll be doing. Building the site, building the platform, and making a site that we can be proud of.

The Great One is Upon Us (no homo)

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Wayne Gretzky made an epic leap in the IPO list one OneSeason.com’s home page. He climbed the list faster than anyone we’ve seen in awhile, and is your next IPO to hit the pipeline. How do you think this SOI will do on OneSeason. Discuss! (click comments)

With Gretzky About to Run Him Down, Beasley Rears His Ugly Head

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Wayne Gretzky, Big Ben, Larry Fitzgerald, Dirk Nowitski all tried to chase the Beaz down, but he wouldn’t be denied. Tonight Beasly IPO’d. The forums have a full thread dedicated to timestamps. The Nation is predicting a market cap of $8,000 to $12,000 on Michael Beasley. The Great One is Next. That will be a far better one. Folks are predicting Gretzky to be in the $50,000 Market Cap territory. Did you request your Beasley yet? Go request him! It can’t hurt!

The Cardinals Are a Real Pain in the Ass for Their Fans

Saturday, January 17th, 2009

It wasn’t long ago that the Cardinals were just another team that consistently caused their fans heartache by season’s end. Well now, instead of causing this fan heartache, it’s his ass that is sore. Fredy Gutierrez agreed to tattoo the logo of the local Sports Talk Radio station and the dudes that host the show’s names on his ass. The reward? 4 tickets to tomorrow’s game against the Eagles for the NFC Championship. What would you do to get tickets to your team’s “Big” Game? Would you go through this? I’m sure his wife is proud. Here is the article from the Radio Station.

No Monkey Pulling Levers at OneSeason!

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

One of the most debated, and hottest topics in the forums was settled once and for all, on Mike Sroka’s radio interview on OS Trader. Many people have been speculating the the IPO process is not automated. Many people have been saying OneSeason does it whenever they think is right. Many people have said many different things about it. Some people said that OneSeason has a monkey on staff who sits in the basement and pulls levers releasing IPOs totally at random. Sorry Mr. Monkey. You’re out of a job.

Tonight OneSeason CEO Mike Sroka confirmed that the IPO process of pulling an IPO off the list, is indeed 100% automated, with no influence by them. OneSeason uses a very complex algorithm that determines this “pull”. When this happens, OneSeason makes sure they have the correct people in place to monitor the site as the IPO is put into the pipeline, and once they are OneSeason approves the IPO to hit the pipeline.

The process of releasing the shares into the market is still manual, but in the future, they would like for that to be automated as well.

Don’t Cancel IPO Requests, and NEVER Think You’re Too Late

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

Lots of talk in the forums about cancelling IPO timestamps that are more than a couple minutes old. I am not, and here is why. We know that one of the things OneSeason uses to determine the maximum percentage that someone can get of an IPO is off of participation on that IPO. The market conditions are also a factor. The more people who are in the IPO, the more people who will get shares. The fewer people on the list, the higher the percentage of the shares someone can get will be. Don’t ever just assume that you are out of the game on an IPO. The longer the line, the more interest that is shown, the lower the % of shares one person can get, and there will be more total numbers of people who get the IPO.

Babe Ruth Hits the Pipeline on OneSeason.com!

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

Babe Ruth hit the IPO pipeline on OneSeason tonight at approximately 8:29pm PST. If you had an IPO timestamp of more than two minutes, you are probably out of luck. This will be the first “dead guy” SOI to hit the market. We already have our first “retired guy” in Jordan. The Babe is the most anticipated IPO we’ve seen in awhile, and we won’t see another frenzy like he’s created until the Yankees hit the pipeline. The Yankees are currently #12 on the IPO list at the time of this writing. We learned tonight that the algorithm that pulls the IPOs into the pipeline is 100% automated. Once this algorithm (controlled by numerous market conditions) “pulls” an IPO, OneSeason gets their support staff together, makes sure everyone is ready to monitor the effects, stress, strain, and other potential problems on the site, and the IPO is put into the pipeline. We also learned tonight from Mike in the OST radio interview that although, while 4% is still currently the maximum amount of one IPO anyone can get, the actual percentage possible per user is also determined by market conditions, and can go down lower than that. We’ve seen 2%-ish on the last couple IPO’s. Will the overwhelming demand for BABE bring this number down? Will only the top 50 people who requested the BABE get their IPO shares? Does the market conditions warrant dropping the maximum percentage any one person can get below 2%? We’ll find out tomorrow.

OneSeason in the WALL STREET JOURNAL! (again)

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

OneSeason made Wall Street Journal again. Here is the comments on the article.

“It’s produced a wild ride for investors in this market where players buy and sell “stock” in actual athletes, but OneSeason is still standing and providing a genuinely fun alternative to fantasy sports — while paying out real money. Most of its detractors have been silenced: players have received checks and posted photos of them on message boards. Sign up now and you may have a chance at the soon-to-be-released Babe Ruth and Michael Beasley IPOs.”

The Nation’s First Daily Market Thread Reaches 100 pages!

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

FRESH off her MAXIM magazine “Hometown Hottie” photoshoot, it’s our official Nation Mascot. Stopping by to reward the folks in the forums for their 100 page Daily market thread today. That’s over 1000 posts just on today’s market alone! The over/under in the forums today was set at I believe 62 pages. No Babe Ruth today. But don’t fret, he’s coming. The IPO system is based on a complex algorithm that we will never understand because of many unreleased variables. It looks like the algorithm was dead on today, though. The market ended up down 8.71% on 16,636 shares traded. Tomorrow will be another fun day of trading. You never know what will happen. Remember the Golden Rules, Nation. Don’t be scared. Ever. And don’t be greedy. Not following those rules is the top two ways to LOSE money.

The Babe says, “Beasley? WTF?”

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Due to a concerted effort between the Nation, and OneSeason Trader…..Babe Ruth is now your next IPO. Way to go everyone. Keep canceling SCHMUCKS like Beasley, and vote for the players YOU want to see traded on OneSeason!

When “BRO-MANCE” Goes Too Far…

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Knick center Eddy Curry was slapped with a shocking sexual-harassment suit yesterday by his former driver, who claims the 6-foot-11 hoopster tried to solicit gay sex from him.

Stunning court papers charge that Curry, a married father of several kids, repeatedly approached chauffeur David Kuchinsky “in the nude,” saying, “Look at me, Dave, look” and, “Come and touch it, Dave.”

Curry, 26, also made Kuchinsky perform “humiliating tasks outside the scope of his employment, such as cleaning up and removing dirty towels [into which Curry had ejaculated] so that his wife would not see them,” the Manhattan federal court suit says.

Kuchinsky, 36, who is straight and Jewish, also alleges racism, saying Curry hurled slurs at him, including “f- - - ing Jew,” “cracker,” “white slave,” “white devil” and “grandmaster of the KKK.”

Curry, a former Chicago Bull, said last night he was “shocked” at the allegations. “It’s false, and everyone who knows me knows I’m not a racist,” he said after the Knicks beat the Hornets in New Orleans. “I’ve never made a comment like that, playing, or nothing. . . . That’s incredible, man.”

The sexual allegations recall a 2006 lawsuit by Knicks marketing VP Anucha Browne Sanders, who claimed then-General Manager Isiah Thomas made advances on her. She settled for $11.5 million after winning at trial.

And in an episode reminiscent of some elements of the manslaughter case against former New Jersey Net star Jayson Williams - who fatally shot a limo driver - Kuchinsky’s suit also claims Curry pointed a “fully loaded” gun at him on at least two occasions.

“Look, I have one in the chamber,” Curry allegedly said.

Kuchinsky, who worked for Curry from October 2005 through October 2008, says he was hired as a 24/7 chauffeur for the hoop star and his family, and lived in the basement of their Chicago mansion.

But shortly after starting work, he “progressively became Curry’s ‘house-boy,’ ” his suit says.

He wants $98,000 plus compensatory damages from the Knick, whose contract pays him $9.4 million this year. Damage claims typically can go up to $5 million in state court, Kuchinsky’s lawyer said.

Kuchinsky says he is owed $68,000 in unpaid wages, as well as $25,000 in expenses for which Curry never repaid him. Those expenses, he said, included cellphones that Curry had him buy as gifts and hotel and club bills. “Instead of paying him, they discriminated against him,” said Kuchinsky’s lawyer, Matthew Blit. “Imagine going into your boss’ office . . . and he stands up and drops his pants and he asks you [to] take care of him.”

Curry, who has played just 2 minutes, 38 seconds this season because of knee injuries, said last night that Kuchinsky had contacted a friend of his, “and every time, it was something different.”

“First time, it was to curse me out,” Curry said. “Second time, it was to apologize. Third time, it was ‘If Eddy doesn’t call me, I’m going to sue him.’ I just never, ever thought it would go past what it did, which was just idle threats, money-or-else kind of stuff.”

Curry’s lawyer, Kelly Saindon, said Kuchinsky began making a series of claims for unpaid wages several months ago, upping the ante each time. Saindon said Curry took a chance on hiring Kuchinsky despite the driver’s criminal record, which includes a three-year prison sentence for a 1992 burglary in New Jersey. He also got three years’ probation in a 2004 resisting-arrest case in the Garden State, records show.

“It’s shocking that Eddy opened his home to a convicted felon out of prison, and gave him a job when he couldn’t find a job, and this is what comes out of it,” Saindon said.

Kuchinsky’s lawyer conceded his client’s “troubled past,” but said that was all behind him.
