I was daydreaming back in 1998 in high school economics class and thought a stock exchange for athletes would be a cool way for kids to learn about market dynamics. After graduating from college I worked for a private equity fund and then a hedge fund. I was playing fantasy sports with my friends, and I thought this would work. The CEO of the hedge fund had a lot of experience with venture-backed startups. I pitched this idea to him in July 2006 and he loved it. He provided some startup capital and by May 2007 we had a business plan and we launched the Web site in October of 2008.

great that he is getting it out more, but the same old story. how about some news that is new? the other thing. did he say that he ‘thought this would work’. hmmm not good to use past tense. hope he still ‘thinks’ it will work.
