Introducing BostonSportsPulse.com, Part of the OneSeasonNation Family

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

OneSeason Nation founding Member, and writer, Tdpenny2000 has been having fun and gaining a lot of viewers with his great new Boston sports themed website. Check it out! BostonSportsPulse.com. Check it out when you have time! He’s done a great job with it, with awesome articles. Here is the official write up.

Are you tired of reading the same old dinosaur Boston sports writers? Do you want an unfiltered, unbiased opinion of everything Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots, and Celtics related? Then this is your place to be! Here you will get nothing but straight shooting from me and my team. No agendas, no filters, no unnecessary use of SAT prep words, and best of all, no political correctness.

BostonSportsPulse.com was created by me, Chris Penfield. With the help of a couple of my friends, and one slightly misguided NY fan, I plan on making this site the one stop spot for all things Boston Sports related with a hint of Fantasy info sprinkled in. Be warned, this site is created by fans and is 100% for fans. If you are looking for another news paper you are in the wrong place. We target young professionals who don’t have the time or the patience to sit and read long winded news paper articles. We plan on bringing you information and analysis/opinion jam packed into quick, and entertaining posts with a side of stale humor.

Unfortunately, we all still have full time jobs so bare with us on the slow days. But please send all feedback, comments, suggestions, and questions to chris@bostonsportspulse.com as we are always looking to improve.

Once you see what BSP has to offer, you will never go back to the drab, boring, OLD style of sports writing this town has become accustomed to. Thanks for reading!

That being said, enjoy the site. If you like what you see, tell your friends and keep coming back for daily updates!

BP’s Friends Send Their Well Wishes From Portland

Sunday, October 18th, 2009
......"We Miss You Bro, Hope You're Doing Well!....."

......

Every Year, BP participates in the yearly NBA Auction Fantasy League with his friends back home in Portland, OR. BP could not make it this year, and as you can tell from the photo, the league is bummed out he couldn’t make the trip back to Oregon for the draft this year, but being the nice group of guys they are, they sent their well wishes.

Auction Fantasy Leagues are quite fun, and definitely a “Once you try the Auction Act..you never go back”. GM’s start w/ $200 million or so…and guys take turns throwing the name of any player in the ring. Guys bid against each other, and whoever has the highest bid…gets that player added to his squad, and the dollar amount he bid subtracted form the total. It’s very fun. I urge you and your fantasy basketball leagues that are forming to give it a try.

OneSeason Launches New “Fantasy Ratio” Feature!

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

OneSeason launched a feature today that will allow people easily see what SOIs will help them in third party fantasy games, as well as see what players are undervalued, relative to their on-field performance. Here is the official announcement. The forums are ablaze this morning, and have been since 5:30am PST regarding this topic. Get in there and see what the OneSeason community is saying! What are your thoughts?

picture-2

We launched a new metric to look at when valuing SOIs on OneSeason; it’s called a Fantasy Ratio and takes into account current standard fantasy scoring.

The ratio is an easy way to compare an Athlete’s Value on OneSeason to their on-field performance; and also, compare their value easily to other athletes based on on-field performance. A lower Fantasy Ratio means that particular athlete scores more fantasy points relative to their Athlete Value.

You can see the ratios broken down by last game, season and career stats on each athlete’s profile.

You will see more things coming in the very near future related to this ratio! For a more detailed explanation and examples see the explanation page.

$125 Prize! No Entry Fee! OSN Member Creates Another “Cash For On Field Performance” Game!

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

OneSeason Nation member (and official Legal Counsel) Philadude has created another 3rd party game for OneSeason based around On Field Performance! For this game you can win $125 for The Triple Crown, or the Cy Young games. Here is a description, right from Philadude himself!

THIS GAME STARTS MONDAY! Get Entered for your chance to win $125!

It’s the same premise as traditional rotisserie baseball, except that rather than each participant drafting their own team with different players, participants are allowed to use the same players, but it’s ownership percentage that separates them.  Standings are based on a combined point ranking in the three stat categories, which is in turn based on total stats of the MLB player, adjusted by ownership percentages.  In a nutshell…the better stats your three players have and the more shares you own of each player when they put up those stats, the better you do.

Josh Hamilton Hits OneSeason!

Josh Hamilton Shows his support for the"OneSeason" concept. (You can't see but he's also wearing skates and baggy shorts in this photo)

The comeback, feelgood story of recent times in MLB is set to be released into the trading community on Friday. The tattooed wonder kid Josh Hamiltion was IPO’d Thursday evening at approximately 5:22PM PST. If you haven’t read the story on this guy. I highly recommend it. His market cap will be EXTREMELY low. Possibly one of the lowest we’ve seen in awhile. He will be a good SOI for someone to pounce on, and buy a huge stake in, for a cheap price. If Hamilton can put together a string of years like he did last year, he’ll belong up there w/ the names Wright, AROD, and Pujols.

Who’s Number One?

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

Ever since A-Rod’s untimely hip injury, almost everyday at work has been spent debating who should be the number one pick as many have their fantasy draft quickly approaching. Do you go with the veteran, two time NL MVP Albert Pujols? Or do you take the more risky route and snag up and coming five tool stud shortstop Hanley Ramirez? For me, it’s not even a question, you take Hanley without hesitation and ride him hard (no homo) to the glory land that is fantasy sports supremacy!

Even with a sore shoulder Hanley was still a 30/30 guy (33 HR and 35 SB) in 2008 while batting .301 and scoring 125 runs and driving in 67 all at the ripe age of 24. Hanley has increased his HR and OPS in each of his three seasons in the majors and should only get better as he continues to mature.

Pujols put up even better numbers last season. In 148 games he stroked 37 HR 116 RBI a .357 AVG and scored 100 runs. If you look at it simply the stat lines then you go with Pujols every day of the week, unless you are some sicko that gets a hard on for stolen bases. However, what gives Han Ram the edge is the two 50 SB years in 2006 and 2007 (sorry, I might be that guy) and more importantly that he plays shortstop, a very weak position in comparison to first base. Lets compare both players to see how much of a drop off there is the deeper you dig into each position. To do this we will compare each to the fifth and tenth players based on default ranking. While obviously not perfect, it is a pretty good way to show the positional strength at first base compared to the weakness at shortstop.

Pujols: .357 AVG 37HR 116 RBI 100 Runs 7 SB
5th R. Howard: .251 AVG 48 HR 146 RBI 105 Runs 1 SB
10th A. Gonzalez: .279 AVG 36 HR 116 RBI 103 Runs 0 SB

As you can see, really not much of a difference at all to Ryan Howard and even Adrian Gonzalez is not too too far away.

Hanley: .301 AVG 33 HR 67 RBI 125 Runs 35 SB
5th D. Jeter: .300 AVG 11 HR 69 RBI 88 Runs 11 SB
10th M. Aviles: .325 AVG 10 HR 55 RBI 68 Runs 8 SB

Much bigger difference. While Derek Jeter is an iconic god to some, he is becoming a fantasy dud with no power and a decreasing numbers across the board. It is safe to say the gap between him and Hanley is far greater than that between Howard and Pujols. The same can be said for Aviles.

First base is definitely the deepest position this season with short stop being one of the weakest. While Pujols may give you better numbers overall, it will be much easier to find a good first baseman later in than draft than another shortstop. So if on draft day you find that the number one overall pick has fallen into your lap, take Han Ram and never look back!

Hot or Not? Week 12 Start/Sit Analysis

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Salahlipop is back with his expert fantasy advice. Be sure to post questions about sit/starts in the comment sections to be answered by our experts!

Quarterback

Studs:

Kurt Warner vs. NYG

Drew Brees vs. GB

Peyton Manning @ SD

Jay Cutler vs. OAK

Donovan McNabb @ BAL

Philip Rivers vs. IND

Aaron Rodgers @ NO

Tony Romo vs. SF

Start:

Jason Campbell @ SEA: Campbell has been struggling the last couple weeks, but look for him to turn it around this week at Seattle. Only one team (Chargers) has allowed more passing yards on the season than Seattle.

Eli Manning @ ARI: Manning has been a great QB all year long, but only an average fantasy performer, rarely throwing for over 200 yards. This week should be different. Combine the facts that 1)Arizona has an explosive offense that needs to be kept up with; 2)Brandon Jacobs is banged up and emphasis has been shifted to the passing game; and 3)Arizona has given up the most receiving TDs in the league, and we have what should be a great day for Eli Manning.

Sage Rosenfels @ CLE: Rosenfels is getting comfortable as the starter and is facing the porous Cleveland secondary. Him and both Texan’s wideouts should have good days.

Sit:

Jake Delhomme @ ATL: Delhomme has thrown for less than 100 yards in two straight weeks, and one of those games was against the Lions. He has another good matchup this week, but the Panther’s running game has been owning, and I just don’t trust him.

Matt Hasselbeck vs. WAS: Hasselbeck struggled last week coming off of an injury, and should have another tough time this week against a Redskin secondary that has been improving as of late.

Brett Favre @ TEN: Going up against the Titan’s tough secondary (who have only given up 5 passing TDs all year), don’t expect much from Favre this week.

Running Back

Studs:

Brandon Jacobs @ ARI*

Frank Gore @ DAL

Adrian Peterson @ JAC

Clinton Portis @ SEA

Joseph Addai @ SD

Matt Forte @ STL

Brian Westbrook @ BAL**

Ladainian Tomlinson vs. IND

Marion Barber vs. SF

Willie Parker vs. CIN

Start:

Warrick Dunn @ DET: With Earnest Grahm out for the year, Dunn gets the starting job this week against the lowly Lions. Pick him up, and start him with confidence.

DeAngelo Williams @ ATL: I predict that the Panthers continue to pound the run this week against Atlanta. J. Stewart should have a good game too.

Ryan Grant @ NO: Grant has performed well against very tough defenses the last few weeks, and should far even better this week against the Saints, who are far from an elite defensive unit.

Steve Slaton @ CLE: Slaton had a great game last week, despite Ahman Green vultering away a couple TDs from him. Look for Slaton to be heavily involved in both the rushing and passing game this week.

Sit:

Tim Hightower vs. NYG: Hightower appears to have been a one week wonder, and with J.J. Arrington now apparently receiving goal line carries don’t expect much, if anything, from Hightower against the tough Giants D.

Maurice Jones-Drew vs. TEN: MJD had an unexpectedly good game against the Titans last week, but this week he faces the Vikings, who are arguably the best rushing D in the league. Temper your expectations.

*Brandon Jacobs @ ARI: Check his injury status before starting him. Even if he does play, it may be in a limited role.

** Brian Westbrook @ BAL: Also make sure to check his injury status. He is clearly banged up and not performing well, plus he has a very tough matchup.

Wide Receiver

Studs:

Anquan Boldin vs. NYG

Larry Fitzgerald vs. NYG

Andre Johnson @ CLE

Reggie Wayne @ SD

Brandon Marshall vs. OAK***

Randy Moss @ MIA

Steve Smith @ ATL

Greg Jennings @ NO

Roddy White vs. CAR

Calvin Johnson vs. TB

Santana Moss @ SEA

T.J. Houshmandzadeh @ PIT

Start:

Marvin Harrison @ SD: It appears as though the Colts offense is getting together down the stretch, and this week they face a San Diego Defense that gives up the most passing yards in the league. Start any Colt that you can.

Lance Moore vs. GB: I’m going out on a limb here, but Lance Moore has been putting up Marques Colston type numbers, at the expense of Marques Colston!

Lee Evans @ KC: I recommended to start Evans last week, and he embarrassed me with zero catches (although that was really Trent Edward’s fault, not his). I expect him and Edwards to turn it around this week against the more generous Chiefs secondary.

Dwayne Bowe vs. BUF: Thigpen’s favorite target, start him with confidence.

Sit:

Chad Johnson @ PIT: Ochenta y Cinco slept through a team meeting and has been deactivated for tonight’s game. Unless you want a big fat zero, put him on your bench ASAP. Better yet, drop him, because he sucks (j/k about dropping him, but I wouldn’t want him on my team).

Bernard Berrian @ JAC: Welcome to the APET show. Don’t expect much from Berrian or the Vikings passing game.

***Brandon Marshall vs. OAK: I’d start him anyway, but keep in mind that Marshall will face shutdown corner Nmandi Asomugha

Alright, that’s it for this week. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions feel free to send me a message or post it as a comment. Good luck and happy trading!

RealityCheck’s NFL Picks - Week 12

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Starting now, ill be posting my top 5 NFL picks each week with write-ups for each match up. So far this season has been a little more difficult than others, but I’m still picking almost 54% on the season, so it could be worse. Nevertheless, I’m still working toward a great finish in the last 1/3 of the season. Now on to the picks!

5-Star Pick: Vikings +2.5

The reason why I like this game so much is simple: The Jags suck. This team is playing terrible this season, I can’t believe they are GIVING points to another team that’s not the Lions or the Bengals (which they lost to). Their running game was always their strong point in previous seasons, but now they can only manage 117 yards/game with both MJD and Taylor, and this week against a defense that only lets up 74 yards/game and is ranked #2 in rush defense. The Jags won’t be able to run, meaning Garrard will have to win them the game, and that’s not going to happen.

Last week the Jags played the most important game of the season, against the undefeated Titans, and got destroyed in the second half after a pretty good start. If they couldn’t get it together last week in an attempt to save their season, they won’t do it this week either. Unless the Jags win out, they won’t make the playoffs, so their season is just about over. The Vikings on the other hand need this win badly and will play like they do. They lost a close game last week against Tampa and won’t let it happen again this week. The public seems to be mostly on the Jags (75%) and I’m not sure why, but that’s just another reason to pick the Vikings.

4-Star Pick: Chiefs +3

The Bills just aren’t a good team. They started off the season well but have lost their last 4 games. They have yet to beat a winning team either. Last week they lost at home to the Browns in a game they should have won. Now they travel to quite possibly the hardest stadium to play in against a team with only one win, but they aren’t playing like it. The Chiefs have been playing pretty good football with Thigpen at the helm, and now with LJ back and more familiar with their new offense, I see them playing well this week.

On the other side of the ball we have the Bills, with their offense led by Edwards. Edwards had 3 INT’s last week and is averaging 2 per game the last 4 weeks, with only an average of 200 yards passing. Lynch had his best game of the season against the terrible Browns D, but it was his only 100 yard game of the season and he was at home. The Chiefs run D is terrible, but the Bills haven’t been running the ball too well anyway, with Lynch only averaging 3.5 ypc.

The Chiefs have covered 3 of their last 4 games, and the Bills are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games. The public loves the Bills this week (about 80%), which just gives me another reason to like the Chiefs. I think they will outright win the game, so getting 3 points is great.

3-Star Pick: Colts +3

Picks against Peyton Manning when he is playing well is never a good thing. The Colts offense is finally where it should be, their O-line is healthy, Addai had an amazing week last week, and Manning has all of his favorite targets to throw to. Add that to the fact that the Chargers have the worst pass defense in the league and you get a Colts win. Both teams need this win, the Chargers might need it more, but they just won’t be able to bring it all together. LT isn’t playing like hes anywhere near 100%, and their passing game was terrible last week.

The Colts pass D is ranked 8th in the NFL and has only allowed 2 TD passes the entire season. Bob Sanders is questionable, but even if he doesn’t play I like their defense to give the Chargers trouble. This game will be close and competitive, it always is, so I really like that the Colts are getting points.. The Colts have a much better offense with Manning in his groove, and a much better defense both against the run and against the pass.

2-Star Pick: Cardinals +3.5

The Arizona Cardinals are for real this year. They might have locked up their terrible division, but they need to prove something to the rest of the league. The Giants are the best team in football right now, and they are playing great. The Giants are in control of their division and have nothing left to prove, so they don’t need this game as much as the Cardinals.

Warner is on fire right now and has the best receiving duo in the league to throw to, not even the Giants will be able to stop him. Basically both of these teams are playing great football, the Giants have the best running game right now, and the Cardinals have one of the best if not the best passing game right now. The difference here is the Cardinals being at home and getting points with more to play for than the Giants. The public is betting almost 95% on the Giants too, which really makes me want to go against them and pick the Cards this week.

1-Star Pick: Lions +8.5

I can’t believe I like the Lions, but I do. I was tempted to just pick the Bucs because I never feel comfortable with the Lions, but then I decided to actually think about this game.

The Lions are at home and have actually covered 2 of their last 3 games. After this game, Tampa plays 3 divisional games which will decide their playoff future, I have a feeling they might not have prepared for this game much. The Lions coach, Rod Marinelli, also coached the Bucs for 9 years from 1996-2005, so he should have a pretty good idea how to beat them.

The Bucs are a team much like the Panthers, they have a good defense, and their offensive strong point is their run game. Graham is out for the season, and there’s talk that Caddy might not even be active for the game, that leaves Dunn to carry all of the work load. Dunn has showed he can still be a good back, but I don’t see the Bucs being able to run the ball as effectively when its all on Dunn’s shoulders. The Lions covered last week on the road against the Panthers, and I expect them to cover this week at home too. The Lions are 0-10 and officially in desperation mode to get a win.

Fantasy Basketball Owners - ACT FAST

Anthony Morrow

What’s up nation viewers. Do you know who this is? I bet you don’t, however within a few weeks you sure as hell will. His name is Anthony Morrow, an undrafted NBA rookie out of Georgie Tech. He now starts for the Golden State Warriors and is TEARING apart the league. In his first start he dropped 37, which is the most points EVER scored in a single game by an undrafted rookie. Many were saying this was a fluke, however he followed it up witha  solid 25 on the Blazers. He is currently only owned in 17% of leagues according to ESPN.com, so that means you still have an incredible shot of landing this gem.

If he is available in your league, PICK HIM UP NOW. This is one of those players that can turn a team around, kind of like Maurice Jones-Drew did the past few years for many fantasy football owners. I can not stress the importance of this aquisition and also the fact you must act now. Stop reading this article, go to your league, and pick him up now.

Good luck boys, hopefully I can throw up another article for you all soon, however I highly doubt it will be about a steal as good as Anthony Morrow.

Week 12 Waiver Wire Wonders

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

Welcome to the first edition of my weekly Waiver Wire Wonders column, were I recommend to you stellar players to pick up off of your league’s waiver wires. I will tend to recommend less obvious names that fly under the radar, but have high upside in the coming weeks. A word of caution though, be extremely careful not to drop any of your stud players unless they have significantly underperformed all season long or have serious injuries. Being adept at finding valuable players on the waiver wire is a skill that all fantasy football players should be accustomed to. One good waiver wire pick up can make a fantasy season, but remember that one bad drop can definitely break it. I’m here to help you in that process, and hopefully you can find that key player to help your team into and through the fantasy playoffs. Feel free to leave questions in the comment section as to who to pick up/drop, I’ll try to answer them ASAP. On to the list…

  • Warrick Dunn, TB: With Earnest Grahm apparently out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury, Dunn will be taking over the starting duties in Tampa Bay. Dunn may be old, but he has continues to play well this year behind Grahm, garnishing 4.4 yards per carry. The Bucs also have a pretty easy schedule through the rest of the season, with their toughest defensive opponent being Carolina in week 14. This week Dunn gets to start against everyone’s favorite Detroit Lions. Pick up Dunn and start him, no questions asked.
  • Peyton Hillis, DEN: Hillis got the start in week 11 for the Broncos and performed very well, going for 70 total yards and 2 touchdowns. As long as he’s getting the starts in Denver he is worth having on your team and maybe even starting (depending on the match up).
  • Derrick Ward and/or Ahmad Bradshaw, NYG: The Giants running game is by far the best in the league, with Earth (Jacobs), Wind (Ward), and Fire (Bradshaw) continually making fools of opposing defenses, even the Ravens this past Sunday. Well, Earth is now questionable for week 12 with an apparent knee injury, so run to the waivers and pick one, or both, or these guys up. If Jacobs can’t go this week they’re definitely worth the start.
  • Ahman Green, HOU: While still getting less than half of the carries in Houston behind Steve Slaton, Green is now being used as the team’s goal line back. On a high scoring team like the Texans this could end up as a very valuable position, especially in TD heavy fantasy leagues.
  • J.J. Arrington, ARI: Arrington is not only splitting carries with Tim Hightower, but also getting all of the teams goal line carries. Worth a pick up in deeper leagues.
  • Tyler Thigpen, KC: Thigpen has been among the top fantasy producers for QBs since taking the starting role in Kansas City. Pick him up and start him with confidence.
  • Kerry Collins, TEN: If you still think that Collins is simply a game “manager” for the Titans than you haven’t been watching football the last two weeks. Collins has shown that he is an elite QB and should, at the very least, be owned in all leagues, and maybe even starting.
  • Antonio Bryant, TB: Bryant is the clear #1 receiver is Tampa Bay, and has had a very solid, albeit inconsistent, year. He is top 15 among wide receivers and should be owned in all formats.
  • Justin Gage, TEN: With Kerry Collins playing like an all-star Gage has been the main beneficiary, scoring two touchdowns last week. Pick him up with confidence.
  • Dustin Keller, NYJ: The Jets TE has become Brett Favre’s best friend as of late, and is among football’s TE elites. Keller has been Favre’s main target all over the field, and is clearly a top-5 TE. Unless you own someone of the likes of Antonio Gates or Kellen Winslow, you should be starting Keller.

So, now that you know who’s valuable, run to your league’s waiver wires and pick them up before someone else does! Don’t say that I didn’t warn you! Also, if you have any questions or comments, or if you would like to recommend another waiver wire wonder, please feel free to post them in the comments section. Thanks!

Hot or Not? Week 11 Follow Up Edition

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

Hello everyone. This is my weekly follow up to the previous week’s start/sit recommendations. Every week, I’ll go over my recommendations to see how I did, and, hopefully, give you more confidence in my advice. Be sure to check out my Week 12 waiver wire wonders, and Hot or Not columns soon. Also be on the look out for the football SOI overview, and the multi-week outlook later this week. And don’t forget to submit your questions or comments! On to the follow up…

Supermodel Picks (predictions that were right on):

Start - Aaron Rodgers vs. CHI: As predicted, A-Rod #2 had a an all around good day against the Bears on Sunday, going 23-30 for 227 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 INT. If Rodgers could’ve added some more yards and not thrown that INT it would’ve been a super great day, but still, a very solid outing for the youngster.

Start - Ben Roethliberger vs. SD: Big Ben went 31-41 for 308 yards and no interceptions. A TD or two would’ve been nice, but this was still a solid day from Big Ben. He looked healthy and made great throws to the bitter end of a very peculiar game.

Start - Tyler Thigpen vs. NO: Thigpen continues to impress in this one, going for 235 yard, 2 TDs, and one interception. He also added 45 yards rushing. Minus the interception it was a great day for Thigpen.

Start - Michael Turner vs. DEN: Burner had 25 carries for 81 yards and 2 TDs. Some more yards would have been nice, but that extra TD more than makes up for it.

Start - DeAngelo Williams vs. DET: Hopefully your followed Rule #1 and start Williams this week as he and Jonathan Stewart torched the Lions on the ground for 250 yards and 3 TDs. Williams put up 120 and 2 TDs, at the expense of Jake Delhomme and the Panther’s passing game.

Start - Hines Ward/Santonio Holmes vs. SD: I told you to start both Pittsburg receivers and they didn’t disappoints. Ward had the better day with 11 grabs for 124 yards. However, a touchdown would’ve been nice.

Sit - Eli Manning vs. BAL: Mr. Consistent (AKA Eli Manning) put up a very typical stat line, 153 yards 1 TD 1 INT. Not a bad day at all, but nothing awe inspiring. You definitely could’ve started someone better.

Sit - Joe Flacco @ NYG: Flacco was OK, but (in a similar case to Eli Manning) didn’t put up great numbers. He went for 164 yards, 1 TD, and 2 INTs.

Sit - David Garrard vs. TEN: Going against the tough Titans D, Gerrard had a pretty poor outing. He had 135 yards, no TDs, and 1 INT. He also very nearly lost a fumble.

Sit - Kyle Orton @ GB: It was a pretty miserable day for the entire Bears offense, as they got whooped on by the Packers. Orton only threw for 133 yards and lost a fumble to boot.

Sit - Earnest Grahm vs. MIN: This was definitely my prediction of the week, as Grahm got injured early on and only had 1 carry for 3 yards. Looks like Grahm will be out for the season, so pick up Warrick Dunn while you still can!

Sit - Devin Hester @ GB: Don’t expect much from Hester this week, who’ll be catching balls from a QB returning from injury or Rex Grossman and facing Green Bay’s third ranked passing D.

Sit - Chad Johnson vs. PHI: Ochenta y Cinco continues to disappoint.

Sit - Bernard Berrian @ TB: 3 grabs for 46 yard is far from a terrific outing.

Sit - Chris Chambers @ PIT: Chambers had another disappointing day, cathing only 3 balls for 22 yards, just as I predicted.

Butter Face Picks (predictions that were so-so):

Start - Matt Ryan vs. DEN: I thought Ryan would have another fantastic performance, but he was only so-so, throwing for an impressive 250 yards, but losing an interception.

Start - Ronnie Brown vs. OAK: Brown had a pretty good game against the Raiders, carrying the ball 16 times for 101 yards. However, he also lost a fumble.

Start - Antonio Bryant vs. MIN: I thought Bryant would have a great day, but he ended up with only 5 catches for 59 yards. You definitely could’ve done worse, but also a lot better.

Start - Donald Driver vs. CHI: Driver put up ok numbers with 4 catches for 60 yards. Not a bad outing, but you could’ve done a lot better. I hope you started Ward over him Yukon!

Sit - Clinton Portis vs. DAL: I recommended that you sit the stud RB thinking that he would only play in a limited role. He ended up starting and putting up a decent 68 yards. Still, it didn’t kill you to have him on your bench, and hopefully you had someone better starting.

Sit - Ted Ginn Jr. vs. OAK: I predicted that Nnamdi Asomugha would shut down Ginn, and he didn’t disappoint, limiting Jr. to 51 receiving yards. Asomugha, however, couldin’t prevent Ginn from a 40 yard end around play that resulted in a TD. Receiving-wise I was right to sit Ginn, but that rushing TD definitely blew up my bench call.

Fugly Picks (predictions that were dead wrong):

Start - Jake Delhomme vs. DET: I predicted that Delhomme would bounce back against the hapless Lions, but I could not have been more wrong. The Panthers focused on the run all day, while Delhomme threw for a meager 98 yards. He did have a touchdown, but still, I expected a lot better against the Lions.

Start - Deuce McAllister @ KC: I really thought that Deuce would go loose against KC, but he only ended up with 18 yards on 8 carries! Pretty pathetic if you ask me. Thankfully he had 1 TD, which might have salvaged your day if you started him.

Start - Terrell Owens @ WAS: It was pretty unpredictable how T.O. would do with Romo coming back from injury, but I recommended starting him anyways. I ended up wrong, as T.O. only had 5 grabs for 38 yards.

Start - Marques Colston @ KC: Healthy again, Colston seemed primed for a big day against the Cheifs, but Lance Moore stole his lime light, and the Chiefs limited him to only 30 yards.

Start - Lee Evans vs. CLE: Wow, definitely my worst call of the week. Evans put up a big fat ZERO, as he didn’t get to touch the ball even once.

Sit - Ryan Grant vs. CHI: I didn’t expect the Packers to have success on the ground against the Bears defense, but Grant tore them up for 145 yards and a TD. My apologies if you left him on your bench at my recommendation.

Sit - Maurice Jones-Drew vs. TEN: MJD unexpectedly had a good game against a tough Titans D, going for 66 yards and 2 TDs.

Sit - LT @ PIT: I recommended that you temper your expectations for LT against the Steelers, but to start him anyway. He ended up with a great stat line, going for 102 total yards and a nice looking TD. That’s the last time that I ever recommend to even think about sitting LT.

That’s it for the follow up. For my first time doing fantasy football advice, I’d say I did pretty well, as 15 of my 29 recommendations ended up being supermodel picks. There is definitely a lot of room to improve though, as I did make a few blunders (hello Lee Evans).
