OneSeason Gives Major Facelift to Trading Page

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009
Credit OSN Legend RubixCube with the late breaking news last night that OneSeason has given their trading page a MAJOR facelift! Gone is numbers that had been somewhat deceiving (such as overall market cap for the entire market) and things are now sorted in different ways including showing the players listing in best overall fantasy ratio (price+on field performance value indicator).
OSN Members will be devouring this hot topic no doubt all day today in the forums. Check the official thread on this topic out here. Have a great day!

Reverse Split Mechanism Churns Out 4 More Last Night

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

Symbol

Ratio

YAOM 1 for 2
FAVR 1 for 2
KGAR 1 for 2
MELO 1 for 2

OSN analysts are starting to believe that one of the unknown components of the splitting and reverse splitting formula, is that outstanding buy/sell offers are figured into the calculation as well. This would explain why the others didn’t split when it looked like they were gonna. The formulas we will never be able to pin down, and that is a good thing. The reason they are vague in the first place is to prevent manipulation, and you can be that if it was discovered the exact calculation to makes players split, then people would force them again, like they were doing in the early months of OneSeason.

OneSeason are smart dudes. You can count on them to put a lot of time, effort, and energy into stuff like this that in the long run, benefits us by making the trading platform as sound as possible.

What do these 3 Men Have in Common?

What do these 3 Men Have in Common?

It seems like some people are making more state of OneSeason posts than usual, and I am a copy cat so I will chime in.

It currently kind of blows if you have a lot of money in.

It is still moderately fun if you are playing with $50 - $100 and can see 5 - 10% gains off IPO hits.

Everyone will likely continue to go down thru the summer.

Football SHOULD see some renewed interest, but existing players likely will not recover overly quickly as new options will continue to come to market.

If you have a TON (60+% of FRTE) of someone, you are kind of screwed short term.

If you have a few shares of every football player, you will likely be able to make a few measley dollars.

Bullpup theorized today that perhaps OneSeason is correcting to where they expected it. I interpreted that to mean that he thinks it is possible they are only after very small casual players.

The fact of the matter is that if the rent on their office is $5000 (laughable low for SF) and they are getting 1% commission in each direction they need $250,000 worth of shares traded a month to cover that cost.

I have also heard it theorized that they may be getting as much as 7% interest on the money in the system, and that is how they intend to profit.

5 employees (less than we know they have) making $50,000 each (pretty standard for 20 something college grads) would mean they need $3,571,428.57 in the bank at an AMAZING interest rate to afford those employees, and we haven’t even discussed traditional and non traditional benefits yet.

I think the final theory is that CRV giving them 3.5 million dollars buys them time.

Startups are not usually given 2nd phase money until they hit the 2nd phase.

3.5 million would BARELY cover the advertising they are doing in addition to their hosting fees and operational costs.

The reality is that something WILL change in the very near future.

OneSeason out of sheer necessity can NOT remain in it’s current state.

The logical move? You tell me

Good Morning! Tons of Revere Splits Last Night While You Slept!

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Last night at the close of the market, CCSB, JETR, BMAR, and DMAC all Reverse Split. this took 11,000 shares off the market! I am just surprised that anyone bought these players at ANY price! I would say 3 of these 4 are on the “worst buy” list! What are your thoughts?

Hoe-ZAY, HOZAY HOZAY HOZAY, Hoe-zayyyy, Hooooe-Zayy!

Today is a Friday and we predict his  IPO will be announced today at some point. How do you feel about this youn speed burner for the mets? He is currently on the DL, set to come back after the All STar Break at some point. Are you buying or selling or neither? Post your thoughts!

JRYS Passes BROY and RAYA!

Monday, June 15th, 2009

The guy with the sportfolio picture taken straight off Gay.com Jose Reyes has leapfrogged Brandon Roy and Ray Allen BOTH to be YOUR next SOI in the Pipeline! Reyes is a fantasy monster when he is healthy, which he currently is not. He is young and would be a welcome addition to any fantasy roster, again, when healthy. What do you think his prospects are? Comment away or check out the OSN chat to see what people are saying! (you don’t have to be logged in to watch the chat.)

MEGA Moves to #1!!

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Calvin “Megatron” Johnson is set to hit the IPO Pipeline on OneSeason. He was sitting number 5, and has passed Brandon Roy and Ray Allen like they were NFL Defensive backs. There is a good amount of excitement in the OSN forums about MEGA. What do you think? Do you want to own some of this genetic freak? 6″ 5″ 240 pound wide reciever who is a fantasy stud. He plays for the worst team in the history of the NFL. The 0-16 Detroit Lions. This will be an interesting one to watch.

OneSeason Launches New “Fantasy Ratio” Feature!

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

OneSeason launched a feature today that will allow people easily see what SOIs will help them in third party fantasy games, as well as see what players are undervalued, relative to their on-field performance. Here is the official announcement. The forums are ablaze this morning, and have been since 5:30am PST regarding this topic. Get in there and see what the OneSeason community is saying! What are your thoughts?

We launched a new metric to look at when valuing SOIs on OneSeason; it’s called a Fantasy Ratio and takes into account current standard fantasy scoring.

The ratio is an easy way to compare an Athlete’s Value on OneSeason to their on-field performance; and also, compare their value easily to other athletes based on on-field performance. A lower Fantasy Ratio means that particular athlete scores more fantasy points relative to their Athlete Value.

You can see the ratios broken down by last game, season and career stats on each athlete’s profile.

You will see more things coming in the very near future related to this ratio! For a more detailed explanation and examples see the explanation page.

The Hebrew Hammer Hits OneSeason Hard! Malkin/Griffey Next!

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

As you can see by the graph here (prvided by OneSeasonAlerts.com’s desktop tool), Ryan Braun had a VERY strong showing today on his debut into the OneSeason trading community. you can see where he spiked early on as 2 big dogs (One confirmed as The OneSeason community, and AllSportsTalkRadio.com personality “Sdog”) scooped up 50+ shares apiece. Braun is a flat out stud, who we all should know now, won the rookie of the year 2 years ago, and has a cult-like following in that area of the US.

There question now begs….will Griffey Jr. or Malkin be the next IPO? Malkin has teased us with being the 4th hockey SOI to hit OneSeason, only to be pushed back by traders in favor for more popular players traders voted up past Malkin.

I can think of one big dog who…well I can think of two big dogs who are absolutely stoked about Ken Griffey Jr coming to OneSeason! Bullpup, and DJ Burdick. There has been a lot of talk in the forums about people super excited for the prospects of Ken Griffey Jr. being released as an IPO. Will they back up that excitement by capturing large shares of Griffey when he hits the market? Time will tell!

Derrick Rose is….a…..FRAUD?? Shocking Predictable NBA Revelation

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

Derrick Rose’s luck continues to run out. First, months back, he is shat on by The Brett. Then Sdog removes Rose as is avatar in the OSN forums, and OSN Arcade. And now this.

The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that Derrick Rose had his high school transcript altered to change a D to a C before it was sent to college. This news comes after it was reported that Rose had a stand-in take his SAT test.

Here is an excerpt of the article.

Someone with access to Derrick Rose’s academic records at Simeon High School changed a D to a C, boosting the future Bulls Rookie of the Year’s transcript for college, sources told the Chicago Sun-Times today.

Who altered the records in the grade-changing scandal remains a mystery that the Chicago Public Schools has been unable to solve.

You can see the full article here.

Another not so shocking revelation in the NBA world. Expect Rose to take a big hit in the public’s eye and be scrutinized heavily. Derrick Rose has a Market Cap of $5470 on OneSeason with 924 outstanding shares. Expect his SOI to not have as quick of a rise as his peers during the next swing up, due to the black eye his reputation has now.

Don’t Believe The Gloom From People Who’ve Made Bad Buys

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

Here is an article submitted to OSN by Lurker ‘B.K.’ that he sent to OSN and requested be posted on the front page. Thanks for the article B.K.! You should post in the forums too! If you have an article you’d like posted. Send it to bullpup@oneseasonnation.com

Don’t follow the naysayers into the fireselling-If you’re smart!

There are people out there would have have you believe that the skies are grey, and trouble looms on the horizon for OneSeason. Some of them are promoting the crash, and pleading the end, because they are trying to buy up shares as fast as they can. They other people are a pretty funny bunch. They are the people who expect OneSeason to save them from their SHITTY purchases. If you listen to Oneseason Radio, you’ve heard for weeks who these terrible purchases are. (BMAR, DMAC, TMAC, etc) And these guys who have made shitty decisions are now trying to cry foul and blame OneSeason and try to have someone else take responsibility for their own trading actions. Hey, Smart Guys. If you lose your money, someone else made money. Congrats on playing OneSeason poorly. Maybe you should have paid more attention to the community, and who people were hot or not on, and traded accordingly. The Brett was pretty smart getting out of GTZY months back, and was laughed at when he did it for $7. Now Gretzky is selling for $2.00. Who’s fault is that? Are you mad at OneSeason, are you mad at Brett? Point the finger at yourself. You are just mad because people beat you to the punch!

boo hoo someone just profited off of me

Some of these people, who have made LAUGHABLE choices on who to own in their sportfolio, now want to point the finger at OneSeason, and blame OneSeason for their sportfolio. The FACTS are, if YOU lose money in OneSeason, someone else MADE money. Plain and simple. Don’t buy into the hype of the sky is falling. We’ve heard some great interviews from Mike Sroka and D.J. on One Season Nation regarding the future of the site. We know there is more fun stuff coming, and they are very excited. There are dozens of sites popping up all around us based on games, and other things to do with regards to OneSeason. Don’t buy into the gloom and doom. Please don’t follow the people who are just pissed of at their SHITTY decisions and trying to piss everyone off, and blame OneSeason, and call for OneSeason to fix things. Hey Dudes, YOU bought your shares, and OTHER PEOPLE are selling them for less than you paid for them. Suck it up, and stop your WHINING. I have bought myself nice positions in a few different guys, and haven’t been affected at all buy the crashing of the early issued players. All of these early issues are coming back down to earth and getting inline with the rest of these newer issued players. Stop your whining. Stop complaining. Stop blaming someone else for your decisions. Man up and do something about it. A lot of guys in the “Nation” forums complained about losses before, but by staying in tune with what is going on, a lot of them report being in the positive now. OneSeason is strong, and come football season, you will all be very happy that you found OneSeason when you did.

Alexander the Great Closes at .52 on Wed Night! 65 Shares Traded on the Day!

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

Alexander Ovechkin traded far under the magic 75 cent plateau today. The OneSeason Mendoza line, if you will, and ALL signs point to a reverse split for ALOV. Great news. Once these pre-hoo guys get pulled to the level of guys like Ryan, Forte, Pedroia, Payton, Josh Hamilton, Ichiro, and the rest of these low share, low MC guys…the market can go nowhere but up! But as far as an ALOV Reverse Split, we don’t know when it will happen for sure because OneSeason uses a weighted average for ‘a period of time’ before closing to determine if the SOI reverse splits or not. Half of the formula is there. We’ll see tomorrow if the other half was there to make the Reverse Split happen or not.
