Great Job Guys!

A group of OSN members, led by Dancenham, have begun an epic undertaking of getting a famous athlete involved with OneSeason. It all started when…here, we’ll let Hamface tell the story…

Two months ago I did not have the slightest idea what in the hell Twitter was. PDXPup set up an OSN Twitter account (@1seasonnation) to send out market info along with IPO Alerts, Are You Fan Enough answers, and her random attempts at humor. Now we may be on the brink of something that could kick start our own OneSeason marketing campaign.

On the night of Wednesday July 30, 2009.. We had our first real “Superstar”
to reply to a OneSeason Tweet. I sent @OGOchoCinco, which is Chad OchoCincos Twitter Tag, the following message:

“@OGOchoCinco - we need a 4 letter stock symbol for u. Should we just vote for OCHO? www.oneseason.com“

Which was replied to within minutes with “@dancenham yes I like it”

My first thought was that I better get to the bathroom asap because
i may have just sprayed Hersey squirts through my man briefs.. But I was able to keep myself together and I quickly emailed Bullpup. His response wasn’t what i expected - “hahaha kick ass!”

OCHO has over 78,000 followers. He rarely, and i mean rarely adds the users name to his Tweet when replying to questions. But my name was in there. Meaning that if only half of his followers went and checked what he was replying to, thats 39,000 unique users saw the shameless plug of www.oneseason.com. I wrote back to BP and through his second email i sensed the excitement. We may be on to something!

The news story went up on OSN Homepage and then the VOTE UP OCHO thread was started. He has jumped up all the way to #3 (could even  be #1 by the time this prints) on the IPO Request List.

OCHO also likes to do live streams of himself taking questions through a chatbox. This is all done Live and Unedited. Myself & RealityCheck
(along with others) pulled up his LiveStream and began to not so much flood the chat room with OS questions..We were actually able to have him mention “OneSeason.Com” twice. At this time there were over 1300 people viewing his stream. He uses the website ustream.tv and his streams are all under the title The Chad Ocho Cinco Show. If you are having trouble finding it, just pull up his Twitter page and follow the links.

We have to keep having him see the address so it sticks in his head. OCHO loves attention, and he would love nothing better than
to be the #1 WR on OS. If we can get him on the site.. just ONCE.. we could turn this thing on its head.

So all in all, OSN is in the middle of a large scale effort to get Chad OchoCinco IPO’d ASAP on OneSeason. After the IPO reset, he will probably be number 1. Imagine Chad’s excitement when Dancenham twitters him again that he is number 1 on the IPO request list, followed by all of the OSN members in his live stream chat room letting him know. It could be a very interesting weekend.

OneSeason Nation moderator, aka the CEO of Contests, aka Ham, aka the Notorius P.I.G. has twittered to, and got a response from NFL star Chad “OCHO CINCO” Johnson. Ham twittered the flamboyant number 85, suggesting the ticker name for the wide reciever be “OCHO” when he finally makes his debut on OneSeason. Ocho Cinco replied back to Ham with a short but sweet “I like it”.

Is this the real Ocho Cinco? 70,000+ twitter followers of OGOchoCinco might suggest that it is. Great job ham! Who else will get a response from an athlete on Twitter? We know they are aware and OneSeason has been contacted by agents of certain athletes soliciting possibilities of endorsements. Things are getting interesting as we ramp up for football season!

Michael Crabtree hit OneSeason at approximately 1:15PM PST on Friday. As always, OSN was all over it via Twitter, via the forums, and via the chat. The correct answer of 41 was displayed on Twitter and in the chat room, as well as forums for OSN members to capitalize on! 350-650 shares of CRAB will be available for trading on Sunday, and will be out first ever Rookie to be issues on OneSeason before ever even playing for a team. Are you a fan? I’m thinking think Sanchez will be the top rookie of this draft.

OSN has been busy keeping this summer doing lots of fun stuff! We have been having lots of fun in the OSN Arcade (Damn you Sdog!), playing tons of games around OneSeason like Beat the Bacon, OSFantasy, Vinny’s Sports Book, and keeping up with the IPO Alert war between PDXPup and The Brett. The Brett has twittered the IPO alert WITH the answer to the captcha faster than PDX twice in a row now! Either way, these IPO alerts are fast! C_Court and others rallied together and got these cool OSN fitted hats made that have now been added as a permanent item in the OSN Pro Shop. Guys are finding they are a great way to start conversations about OneSeason, and the OSN. That’s all for today, we hope everyone is having a great summer!

Proving how little anyone knows about what actually triggers IPOs to be released…for fun, OSN is going to predict that TODAY is Jose Reyes day. Today is a Friday and we predict his  IPO will be announced today at some point. How do you feel about this youn speed burner for the mets? The guy with the sportfolio picture taken straight off Gay.com Jose Reyes has leapfrogged Brandon Roy and Ray Allen BOTH to be YOUR next SOI in the Pipeline! Reyes is a fantasy monster when he is healthy, which he currently is not. He is young and would be a welcome addition to any fantasy roster, again, when healthy. What do you think his prospects are? Calvin “Megatron” Johnson is set to hit the IPO Pipeline on OneSeason. He was sitting number 5, and has passed Brandon Roy and Ray Allen like they were NFL Defensive backs. There is a good amount of excitement in the OSN forums about MEGA. What do you think? Do you want to own some of this genetic freak? 6″ 5″ 240 pound wide reciever who is a fantasy stud. He plays for the worst team in the history of the NFL. The 0-16 Detroit Lions. This will be an interesting one to watch.

No other player invokes emotion from the hardcore baseball fans in the OneSeason Nation world like Ken Griffey Jr. EVERYONE at one point or another owned one of those ‘89 Upper Deck Rookie cards. It is a sign of the times. Griffey is 40 years old and in the twilight of his career. For many of us, thinking about Ken Griffey Jr, playing for Seattle, in his younger years, is symbolic of our glory years, of our youth. Trading baseball cards, shooting hoops, ditching homework to go to the arcade with your friends. Griffey was an absolute beast. He was the Michael Jordan of baseball. It is sad to see what injuries did to his career. Check this out.

During his 20 year career, Griffey averaged about 680 plate appearances per season. Because of injury, Griffey missed out on approximately 1700 plate appearances in his career. Griffey averaged 1 home run every 17 at bats in his career. So tack on 100 more home runs. He’d be at 717 today.

Griffey’s injuries started as Bond’s career (and size of his body) began to explode. Griffey was always an opponent of becoming huge and muscle bound. He maintained too big of muscles would reduce flexibility, and the ability to be limber, which are necessary to be a great baseball player.

So, we watch for Griffey to come to OneSeason. It might be today, it might be tomorrow, but it will be this week sometime, and it’s bittersweet for this Griffey fan. It’s great that he’s coming to OneSeason, but it also makes you think about what is going on in your life, and where the past 22 years since “The Kid” was drafted, have gone.

As you can see by the graph here (prvided by OneSeasonAlerts.com’s desktop tool), Ryan Braun had a VERY strong showing today on his debut into the OneSeason trading community. you can see where he spiked early on as 2 big dogs (One confirmed as The OneSeason community, and AllSportsTalkRadio.com personality “Sdog”) scooped up 50+ shares apiece. Braun is a flat out stud, who we all should know now, won the rookie of the year 2 years ago, and has a cult-like following in that area of the US.

There question now begs….will Griffey Jr. or Malkin be the next IPO? Malkin has teased us with being the 4th hockey SOI to hit OneSeason, only to be pushed back by traders in favor for more popular players traders voted up past Malkin.

I can think of one big dog who…well I can think of two big dogs who are absolutely stoked about Ken Griffey Jr coming to OneSeason! Bullpup, and DJ Burdick. There has been a lot of talk in the forums about people super excited for the prospects of Ken Griffey Jr. being released as an IPO. Will they back up that excitement by capturing large shares of Griffey when he hits the market? Time will tell!

The comeback, feelgood story of recent times in MLB is set to be released into the trading community on Friday. The tattooed wonder kid Josh Hamiltion was IPO’d Thursday evening at approximately 5:22PM PST. If you haven’t read the story on this guy. I highly recommend it. His market cap will be EXTREMELY low. Possibly one of the lowest we’ve seen in awhile. He will be a good SOI for someone to pounce on, and buy a huge stake in, for a cheap price. If Hamilton can put together a string of years like he did last year, he’ll belong up there w/ the names Wright, AROD, and Pujols.

Last Night’s episode was an amazing show for the guys who head up the OSN radio division. Jewcer and OneFour had the best ever episode of “Jewced Up” radio! OneSeason co-founders Mike Sroka and DJ Burdick were on the show, and answered all of the questions, talked to some callers, told us about a cool new commerical idea that involved the communty, and everyone learned a lot of cool stuff and had a lot of fun! This was DJ’s first appearance speaking live with the communtiy (other than his debut on OSNTV, and occasional posts to the OSN blog).We had some great callers, some great discussion around OneSeason. We learned of the first OneSeason community game where you can win CASH based on your SOIs on field performance! We had a hot college chick call in. And a lot more fun stuff.
