The Nation is on Magic Watch!

Sunday, March 8th, 2009

Magic Johnson is the next SOI set to hit OneSeason. When he hits is anyone’s guess, it could be today. It could be a week from today. Who knows? If you don’t have an IPO Alert, be sure to get over to PlayerMonitor.com for your free, instant, IPO Alert text messages. Good Luck! The OneSeason Nation is setting the Vegas Over/Under number at $13,000 MC. What do you think it will be the night he closes his first trading day? Over or Under $13,000?

BREAKING NEWS! BOB’S TOOL TEXTS REACTIVATED!

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

Bob Rafferty posted this evening on PlayerMonitor.com that the FREE IPO ALERT TEXTS are active again! He took them down while he tested improvements to the texting service. He moved the service out of his house, and to his place of business to 100x faster servers. He’s added text notifications when a player becomes available for trading, and added text alerts when a player reaches a price target YOU set! Bob’s IPO Alerts are legendary in the OneSeason world. He was the first to do it, and continues to make improvements. These texts are Blazing fast! Check it out! PlayerMonitor.com! Lots of improvements and upgrades, all for free. Thanks Bob for all your hard work!

Good News!

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

Bob Rafferty of PlayerMonitor.com has posted an update to his site. Here is the latest news about the IPO Alert Texts.

GOOD NEWS!!!

March 1st, 2009

Through testing today, I received my TXT alert as soon as Cole Hamels hit the market.

So the PlayerMonitor.com TXT Alert status is…

- SOI Alerts are working properly

- Alert when player hits market (available for trading) is working properly.

- IPO Alerts just need one more test to verify that they are working properly.

I anticipate that after Tracy McGrady is announced, I will then have the TXT Alerts ALL back online and active.

Thanks again for all of your patience!

Kevin Durant Hits the IPO Pipeline; Alert Tools Battle

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

Durant Plays For the Seattle Sonics. I don't recognize the debacle in Oklahoma City.

Durant Plays For the Seattle Sonics. I don

Kevin Durant was loaded into OneSeason at approximately 5:30PM today, and the Alert Battle ensued. People are very passionate about their preferred IPO Alert tool. Who’s is fastest? Bob’s Tool? OneSeason Alerts? OneSeason Text? Bob Rafferty from Bob’s Tool has announced that his Tool is 100% free after the Durant IPO. The other two alerts cost money. $10 for normal IPO’s, more for “premium” IPOs on OneSeasonText.com. OneSeason Alerts is $10 per IPO. The competition is sure to heat up after Durants IPO. The forums are ablaze with people backing up their Tool of choice. Who’s will be the fastest? How will the upcoming API feed for IPOs being released by OneSeason affect this situation? Time will tell. This is a situation to watch.

Update On IPO Alert Tool Situation from OneSeason Trader

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

Directly from their site. Looks like Bob and the crew are greenlighted!

So I just got off of a 30 minute phone conversation with Mike Sroka.  Everyone needs to settle the “F” down if I can say that on the web.  First point.

NOTHING HAS CHANGED. ONESEASON HAS ALWAYS HAD THE SAME TERMS AND SAME STANCE ON THIS.

So next, the OSTrader feature alert tool will continue to operate as planned.  No accounts are going to be “banned”.  Mikes point on this was something like this.

Not a direct quote… “OneSeason does not take any responsibility for 3rd party sites that are not using the API’s. We reserve the right to shut down a 3rd party site at any time if its a) acting in a malicious manner (IPO alerts are not malicious) or b) Severely hurting out websites performance.”  He said that users are not making the connection between OneSeason and 3rd Party OneSeason apps.  They want to blame OneSeason for everyone.  His point is simply that if these 3rd parties are not using the APIs - at any point in time - OneSeason could change their webpage and break the 3rd party app.  OneSeason takes no responsibility and is not liable if this does happen.

Mike then went on to explain that it’s impossible for them to identify what 3rd party sites are using the API keys and which aren’t.  He is aware that there is information not in the API keys that some 3rd party developers want but did not commit to when those would be added to an API.  Best thing we can do is make them aware of what we need in the API’s and they will do their best to act.

So my mind is racing and this post is scattered… But I asked Mike over and over and over.  Can we continue to operate 3rd party sites and in particular alert sites.  And the answer is yes - but they reserve the right to ask any of these sites to shutdown.  I’m very confident that everything done at OneSeasonTrader.com and our partner OneSeasonText.com is neither 1) malicious in nature  or  2) written in a way to hurt OneSeason performance.

So business as usual around here.  Last point in regards to OneSeasonText.com - if for some reason OneSeason does decide to ask OSText to shutdown… You can be sure and feel confident that all “credits” will be refunded 100% to the user.  So register and start getting on these lists before they fill up.

Mike will be on the radio show in 45 minutes.  We will briefly touch this subject as it really doesn’t warrant a lot of attention.  Because again - NOTHING HAS CHANGED!

oh yeah… one more thought. Mike touched on the “” thing. If they do indeed have an issue with a 3rd party app.  They will contact that application owner and ask it to be shut down.  As long as it’s not malicious in behaviour - they will not just shut off/down an account with no notice.

BREAKING NEWS-FROM ONESEASON-NON API IPO ALERTS TOOLS ARE NOT AUTHORIZED

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

Attention to everyone who currently uses, plans on using, free versions, pay versions, pays for, or plans on paying for IPO alert tools, or any other tool that does not use OneSeason’s API keys. The OneSeasonNation has just been informed that these tools are not authorized by OneSeason, and may be against the Terms of Service.

From OneSeason

We provide access to certain features and functionality to our site through the API.  Tool created by 3rd parties that do not utilize the API feeds have not been authorized by OneSeason, may not function accurately or as intended and could be shutdown or rendered useless at any time.

The question was then directly asked if these tools violate OneSeason’s Terms of Service. The answer was

It seems such a tool may fall under Section 6 (L.)

Here is section 6 (L) of OneSeason’s Terms and Conditions.

Attempt to access, search or meta-search the Site with any engine, software, tool, agent, device or mechanism other than software and/or search agents provided by E-Global Sports Network or other generally available third party web browsers (such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, or Safari), including without limitation any software that sends queries to the Site to determine how a website or web page ranks.
What does this mean? This means that although it’s unclear how aggressive OneSeason will be in shutting these IPO Alert tools that do not use OneSeason’s API feeds, but any tool that does not use OneSeason’s API feeds, including IPO alerts that search OneSeason’s pages, are not authorized, and may stop working or be shut down at any time. The only safe, authorized way, looks like to be our old standby. The F5 Tornado.
This will be a very hot topic going forward.

OneSeason Nation Player Monitor Gets a Facelift! (Bob’s Tool)

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

The OSN Player Monitor Developer announced changes today to the Player Monitor Tool (affectionately known as “Bob’s Tool”) Here is the info that is critical to know for anyone currently using Bob’s Tool.

———————————————————————————

NEW! Announcing Player Monitor - Version 4.0

The time has come to make some changes to the way the Player Monitor operates. There will continue to be a FREE version as well as an Enhanced (PAID) version.

The FREE version will be available for anyone to download and use.
The PAID version will only be available to 20 people at a time.

Here is how it will work…

In the Player Monitor, there is a new tab called “Your Enhanced Status”. If you click on the “Your Enhanced Status” tab, you will see a message indicating that you are NOT currently in the list of people who have requested Enhanced Status. In order to obtain Enhanced Status, you must send me an email requesting that you be put on the list for Enhanced Status. Once I receive your request, I will add you to the list. Once you are added to the list, you can see what number you are by clicking on the “Your Enhanced Status” tab.

Once you reach position number 20 (or less), you become eligible to use the Enhanced Version. At this time, you will be required to pay $10 to activate the Enhanced Version. The $10 will activate your Enhanced Version for one (1) IPO announcement. Once the next IPO is announced, you will be required to pay another $10 to activate your Enhanced Status for the next IPO.

If you choose not to pay, then you will be put at the bottom of the request list and the next person in line will be given your position on the request list.

10% of all proceeds will be donated to the following charity.

AYO Technology?

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

No, we aren’t going to talk about 50 Cent OR Justin Timberlake. (Sorry TheBrett). The time has come that we need to discuss the alert programs. What are your thoughts on them? There are several tools out there to use. OneSeasonAlerts, Bob’s Tool, OneSeasonTools, and OneSeasonPro have been the tools of choice people use to get IPOs, other than manual refresh. Once a way to get an edge on the competition and secure yourself an IPO, now it has become a must have for everyone. Before everyone and their hamster had these great alerts, the average reaction time was around 5 minutes. If you got in, in under 5 minutes, you were good. Congratulations! Now with all of the promotion and use of these tools by nearly all active traders, you needed to have your IPO order for Shaq in approximately 1 minute and 30 seconds after he was posted. The IPO allocation system has proved to be tried and true on OneSeason’s part. What have we done by creating these tools, and distrubuting them freely to everyone? What are your thoughts for the future? Would you like to see these tools become more exclusive? Would you pay for the ability to keep using these tools to get IPOs? We have a poll up on the left side asking you this question. Feel free to leave a comment and discuss.
