OneSeason to perform another IPO Reset

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

OSN Member ASL06 reported to us today that OneSeason will be performing an IPO reset at the close of trading hours on Friday. Here is the official announcement. Kudos to OneSeason for keeping the IPO list in line with who active users want to see IPO’d. Kudos to ASL for the quick announcement as well in the OSN Forums. Maybe hook up ASL for his hard work with an IPO request for Mike Bibby? Ok, that’s stretching it, I know.

Michael Crabtree (CRAB) Issued! GIT SUM!

Friday, July 24th, 2009

Michael Crabtree hit OneSeason at approximately 1:15PM PST on Friday. As always, OSN was all over it via Twitter, via the forums, and via the chat. The correct answer of 41 was displayed on Twitter and in the chat room, as well as forums for OSN members to capitalize on! 350-650 shares of CRAB will be available for trading on Sunday, and will be out first ever Rookie to be issues on OneSeason before ever even playing for a team. Are you a fan? I’m thinking think Sanchez will be the top rookie of this draft.

JRYS Passes BROY and RAYA!

Monday, June 15th, 2009

The guy with the sportfolio picture taken straight off Gay.com Jose Reyes has leapfrogged Brandon Roy and Ray Allen BOTH to be YOUR next SOI in the Pipeline! Reyes is a fantasy monster when he is healthy, which he currently is not. He is young and would be a welcome addition to any fantasy roster, again, when healthy. What do you think his prospects are? Comment away or check out the OSN chat to see what people are saying! (you don’t have to be logged in to watch the chat.)

Yao Ming Reverse Splits AGAIN! NICE!

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Yao Ming once again, as predicted by OSN, reverse split this evening, leaving 7853 outstanding in the market. With Yao’s price still being around the dollar range ($1.22 at the time of this writing), ANOTHER reverse split is NOT out of the question. At $0.75 with 7853 shares outstanding puts Yao’s Market Cap at just under $6k. Who else is under 6k? Kevin Garnett, Kevin Durant, Tim Duncan, Amare Stoudemire, Paul Pierce, and Dirk Nowitzki. Yao Ming should fit in among those players nicely, and should end up in that range in the long run.

Josh Hamilton Hits OneSeason!

Josh Hamilton Shows his support for the "OneSeason" concept. (You can't see but he's wearing skates and baggy shorts)

Josh Hamilton Shows his support for the"OneSeason" concept. (You can't see but he's also wearing skates and baggy shorts in this photo)

The comeback, feelgood story of recent times in MLB is set to be released into the trading community on Friday. The tattooed wonder kid Josh Hamiltion was IPO’d Thursday evening at approximately 5:22PM PST. If you haven’t read the story on this guy. I highly recommend it. His market cap will be EXTREMELY low. Possibly one of the lowest we’ve seen in awhile. He will be a good SOI for someone to pounce on, and buy a huge stake in, for a cheap price. If Hamilton can put together a string of years like he did last year, he’ll belong up there w/ the names Wright, AROD, and Pujols.

What’s Up With Legends? Here’s What

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

Barry Sanders had his first full day of trading, and as predicted by OSN analysts, he did NOT perform well. He is currently the 9th lowest SOI available on the market, and some folks are freaking out about it. You shouldn’t be surprised. OneSeason is a popularity contest. It’s a pop culture popularity contest. Barry Sanders is nowhere on the pop culture radar. Michael Jordan is. Here is OSNTV anchor “TheBrett” and his comments on this situation.

The reason Legends are not worth where they historically would be is cultural relevance.
Same reason you don’t see Joe Montana selling Chunky Soup right now.
The world is a pop culture radar and the newest hottest thing will always be in demand.
Barry Sanders may have been 100 times the player Matt Forte could ever possibly be, but I guarantee you Matt Forte runs for more yards this season.
The only legend who should hold value at this stage is Jordan as he is still a central pop culture icon. We are buying and selling shares which derive value from other people’s desire to own.

What are your thoughts on this? Visit the forums or comment here. This will be discussed LIVE tonight on OSN Radio as well.

Ichiro Suzuki IPO Hits the OneSeason Pipeline!

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

And as expected and guessed in the OneSeason Nation forums, the question for the IPO was how many hits did Ichiro get to set the record in 2004. The answer is 262. That’s a lot of slap liners over the 1st and 3rd basmen’s heads! As is customary on IPO days, the OneSeason Nation has added a new game to the OneSeason Nation Arcade, presumably for Sdogg to be number 1 in. Good Luck to everyone on your timestamps!

The Brett’s Commentary on Today’s Events

Monday, April 27th, 2009

I tried to read the entire daily thread and failed.

I got stuck around the $6 split discussion.

More shares will not help the market. I don’t have time to explain the supply v. demand fundamentals of 8th grade Economics.

Why is everyone so concerned that some prices and volume are falling? Who cares?

I imagine most of you do not watch your Fidelity portfolio’s increase and decrease in 15 minute intervals and shit your pants when it goes up or down a few cents.

The FACT of the matter is that if a few thousand people put some money into the real stock market with little to no education whatsoever about how markets, economics in general or human psychology worked they would all lose their asses.

You do NOT put money into a market, move it around as fast as you can and turn your entire portfolio over on an hourly basis like I see people on here attempting to do.

Do a little research, pick a price you are comfortable with and an amount of money you don’t mind seeing frozen for 6 months and buy someone you are confident in.

If prices went up, you would sell anyways.

One Season seems to be doing just fine to me, the faster prices go up and the masses arrive, the shorter our reign will be.

I see nothing wrong with the way things are going, and I don’t understand the near daily analysis of how terrible everything is.

If you can’t stand losing a few bucks then scrape together what you can and hit the road.

OneSeason does not exist to make you rich.

Buy someone you like and log off for awhile.

Newsflash. OneSeason Isn’t Interested in Making You Money

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

I want OneSeason to Drive the Market Upwards. FU#&ing NOW!!! and more cheeseburgers please...

here is a letter I received earlier from a OneSeason Nation member, enjoy

When you look around the world of OneSeason, there are a certain group of people who are screaming for OneSeason to make changes to make the market move. They want OneSeason to advertise on the Superbowl. They want new users to pin their shares that they’re hoarding onto. They want OneSeason to increase the IPO rate. They want OneSeason to slow down the IPO rate. They want OneSeason to bring massive tidal waves of cash to the site………all so they can pin their shares and bad investments in the past on new users.

Newsflash gang. This IS NOT going to happen. OneSeason has ZERO interest in “making you rich”. They have 1 goal in mind right now, and it’s has nothing to do with making the market move. The market movement is based on the users. Stop blaming OneSeason for a stagnant market, stop blaming OneSeason for things being boring, stop blaming OneSeason for your bad choices in spending YOUR money, stop blaming OneSeason for your buddies depositing thousands of dollars and only having $1 left in their account. This isn’t OneSeason’s fault. It’s your fault. You spent your money, and gave it to someone else. Someone else has your money. You gave it to them. They sold you their shares. Now you want a massive flood of new users, so you can back out of the mistake you think you made, and pass those shares onto some new unsuspecting user. Get a grip, dude. Jesus.

OneSeason’s number 1 goal right now, and number 1 priority, and NOTHING will change this fact is that they are building the site. They are adding features. They are working on redesigns. They are fixing ghost orders. They are testing, testing again, testing some more, and then retesting. They are gathering data. They will use this data in the future in helping them make educated decisions with regards to improvements to the site and marketing.

They are not here to make you money. They are not here to make changes to make your shares more valuable. Their sole mission, right now, is to build the site, and make the system the best it possibly can be going forward. Everyone with their bitching and moaning about stagnant markets and OneSeason needing to restore faith in the people who lost all that money in the past……that wasn’t OneSeason’s fault. It is a free market, noone held a gun to anyone’s head forcing them to buy someone elses shares…

but now it seems people want to hold a gun to OneSeason’s head for similar reasons…

/rant off
