TO is Crying

TO is Crying

ESPN is reporting this on Wednesday evening, siting 2 sources. More info as the Nation gets it.

Update finally from ESPN.com (yes, the nation had it up before ESPN.com)
The Dallas Cowboys have released controversial wide receiver Terrell Owens, sources told ESPN’s Michael Smith late Wednesday.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones did not deny the team is discussing the possible release of Owens in late February.

“That Stephen and I were debating about Terrell, that’s just misinformation,” Jones said regarding his son, Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones at the time. “That’s just not accurate. I don’t know where that comes from. That’s just total misinformation.”

The Cowboys paid Owens a $12 million signing bonus just last year, included as part of a new four-year, $34 million deal.

Flava of…..T.O.?

from Yahoo!

Wow, congratulations, Terrell. A VH1 reality show. You’re now in the same boat with Bret Michaels, Flavor Flav, and Hulk Hogan. Dream big, my friend.

The news comes on the heels of the announcement that Michael Irvin will also be hosting a reality show that will send one lucky fellow to Cowboys training camp. And all of this is comes after a disappointing football season that many would argue was derailed by too much drama and the draining presence of too many prima donnas. Some might call that irony.

The upside is that if Owens gets cut this off-season, there might be VH1 cameras around to catch it on tape. So I’m looking forward to that.

Myself, I’ve never doubted that Terrell Owens was a nice, compassionate, caring person who had a very sensitive side. I suspect that’s what VH1 will be highlighting here, and hey, it might even be entertaining. I did watch every episode of that one VH1 show that featured Peter Brady, the hot model, Verne Troyer, Chyna, and Da Brat, so I’m in no position to be a TV snob about it.

What I don’t see, though, is how it helps the Cowboys or even Owens himself. It seems to be that the Cowboys are in a place where they need stability, and part of that is either going to come from excising Owens, or Owens proving that he can be a stable and reliable part of the team.

And if he does end up getting cut, he’s going to face the real possibility that no other team will want him, for fear that he’ll upset their apple cart, too. I don’t know how an offseason reality show helps him prove to anyone that he won’t be a distraction.

As the Cowboys Turn? Dallas of our Lives? The Biggest Losers?

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

The Dallas Cowboys have more drama and/or comedy to fill a hour long weekly reality show. Jerry Jones micro managing, Pac-Man punching his own body guards in bathrooms, T.O being TO, Romo banging Jessica, Marion Barbers Big Toe Boo-Boo, Jason Witten and Tony Romo’s ongoing Bro-mance, where does it end? There has been lots of media coverage of Terrell Owens being butt hurt that Tony Romo and Jason Witten are conspiring against him, and drawing up their own plays to leave him out of the offense. He was also stood up on his BIG night. They no-showed Terrell Owens Birthday Party!! Oh no! Here is Owens interview today with Stephen A. Smith. In in increasingly politicaly correct world of sports interviews, where you are very hard pressed to get a player to use the words “ME” or “I”, Terrell Owens has no problems using those words. Keep going Terrell, we need the entertainment. The Biggest Loser and Survivor both had their season finales, and are done for the winter!
